THE LEGENDARY GARDENS OF BABYLON
The gardens of Babylon today disappeared, was considered one of the seven wonders of the ancient world and were built around 605 b.C. by order of the Babylonian king Nebuchadnezzar II, who wanted to make happy the beloved wife Amytis, recreating the landscapes of his land of origin.
He made them build on huge terraces at several levels where many flowers were planted, trees, vegetables, citrus fruits and plants of all kinds from distant places; then not only the Queen Amytis was able to enjoy this fantastic place, but over time even the people.
A legend says that the Assyrian queen Semiramis she loved being surrounded by roses and she was able to find them every day only in the famous "Gardens of Babylon".
